The challenge

A major online healthcare information and consultation platform wanted to grow beyond traditional organic rankings. Google's search results were changing fast, with AI Overviews and other generative AI features starting to answer user questions directly on the results page, often before a user ever clicked through. For a healthcare brand, showing up inside these AI-generated answers meant staying visible and trusted at the exact moment someone searched for medical information. Most sites, including well-established competitors, had no clear strategy for this: ranking well in classic search results didn't guarantee a place inside an AI Overview

What we did

  • Restructured medical content into answer-first Q&A formats and article clusters, written to be both medically sound and easy for AI systems to parse and summarize
  • Rolled out structured data at scale, including MedicalWebPage, FAQPage, QAPage, and BreadcrumbList schema across thousands of pages
  • Built authority and trust signals for a YMYL niche, including expanded distribution to community platforms like Reddit and Quora

Our approach

We built a strategy around three pillars: 1. Structured, answer-first content We restructured medical content into clear Q&A formats and article clusters that directly answered common patient questions. This included high-intent topics across major health conditions, written to be both medically sound and easy for AI systems to parse and summarize. 2. Deep structured data implementation We rolled out schema markup at scale, including MedicalWebPage, FAQPage, QAPage, and BreadcrumbList schemas across thousands of pages. This gave search engines and AI systems the context they needed to understand the content's medical accuracy, authorship, and relevance. 3. Authority and trust signals Since this is a YMYL niche, we focused heavily on demonstrating expertise and trustworthiness, the same signals that matter for ranking against major established health publishers. We also extended distribution to community platforms like Reddit and Quora to build broader topical presence.

Why this matters

AI-powered search features are becoming a primary way people get information, especially for healthcare questions where users want a fast, trustworthy answer. Brands that aren't structured to appear inside these answers risk losing visibility even if their traditional rankings look healthy. This case study shows that with the right content architecture and structured data foundation, even highly regulated, high-stakes industries like healthcare can earn strong visibility inside AI search experiences, without compromising on accuracy or trust.

What our clients say about us

Within 2 months of launching our new site we went from 5 patient inquiries a month to 40. The appointment booking system alone saved us $500/month in admin time. Best money we spent.
